Charity Specialism

We specialise in Islamic education, community development, and social welfare, providing support and guidance through religious programs, educational initiatives, and charitable services.

Our Story

The Islamic Academy of Manchester, established in 1974 by the renowned scholar Allama Dr Khalid Mahmud (RA), is one of the oldest Islamic organizations in Manchester. Founded under the guidance of Hadhrat Qari Muhammad Tayib (RA), the Rector of Darul Uloom Deoband, the Academy has been a cornerstone of Islamic education and community support for decades. After 40 years at the former Welsh Baptist Chapel on Upper Brook Street, we proudly moved to a purpose-built mosque, City Jami’ Masjid, on Stockport Road, serving as a spiritual and educational hub in the heart of Manchester.

Our Vision

To inspire and nurture a united, spiritually enriched community through education, worship, and service, guided by the principles of Islam and the legacy of our founder, Allama Dr Khalid Mahmud (RA).

Mortuary Stretcher/Trolley for Deceased - City Jamia Funeral Service

Help Us Purchase a Vital Mortuary Trolley Our not-for-profit funeral service exists to ensure that every individual is treated with dignity, care, and respect, regardless of circumstance or ability to pay. We urgently need to raise funds to purchase a professional multilevel mortuary trolley, an essential piece of equipment used to safely and respectfully move deceased individuals. This trolley is specifically designed to reduce manual handling, protect staff from injury, and, most importantly, ensure that those in our care are transferred with the dignity they deserve. At present, our existing equipment is no longer adequate for the increasing demands we face. Without this trolley, transfers become physically difficult and potentially unsafe, placing strain on our small team and limiting our ability to respond promptly to families in need. The cost of this specialist equipment is significant, but its impact is profound. It allows safe, controlled movement without unnecessary lifting. It supports dignified care at every stage It enables our service to continue supporting families when they need us most Every donation, large or small, brings us closer to securing this essential equipment. By contributing, you are directly helping us uphold dignity, safety, and compassion within our community. If you are able to donate, share, or support this appeal in any way, we would be deeply grateful.
