Education

Our Story

Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariya (R.A) is an independent girl’s school, which opened its doors in the year 2000 allowing girls from the age of 11 – 19 to study both religious education and secondary education in an Islamic environment. At MIMZ, we specialise in the provision of a dual education programme encompassing both secular studies and Islamic sciences. It is our belief that every Student deserves a sound education that gives them a chance to succeed. We aim to provide a stimulating and safe learning environment that promotes excellence in all areas of life, in order for them to recognise their roles and responsibilities, and contribute to society as mature and intelligent adults. Students have the honour to complete their Aalimah course from year 7 culminating with the study of the six essential Aḥādīth kitaabs. Alongside this curriculum, students also progress towards 8 GCSEs by year 11 with the option to study A- levels thereafter. We are committed to providing an education that fosters our Students’ creativity and gives them a lifetime passion for learning.

Our Vision

We believe that all Students should feel that their years in school have been well spent and that they have attained, primarily the highest levels of spiritual, moral and Islamic awareness and, in close conjunction to this, the highest levels of intellectual achievement physical wellbeing of which they are capable. At Madrasatul Imam Muhammad Zakariya(R.A), we aim to provide a suitable atmosphere for religious development, intellectual progress and sound personal relationships. This is encouraged through: • Providing an Islamic environment which students are inspired to adopt, by understanding and appreciating Islamic manners and etiquettes. • Promoting the qualities of; honesty, duty, sensitivity and compassion. • Encouraging the development of self-discipline; responsibility and respect for oneself, fellow students and staff; contributing towards an organised and caring school. • Focusing on the welfare and safety of all students. • Encouraging students to exercise choice within the framework of the School and be aware of the effects of their choices upon themselves and upon those around them. • Helping students to understand their personal, immediate and long-term, needs and encouraging them to be sensitive to the needs and feelings of others within the school and the community at large. • Creating an awareness of the importance of good citizenship (FBV) hence enhancing their own life, morally and religiously, as well as the lives of others. • Developing an awareness and respect for different cultures in the diverse society in which we live. • Providing students experience and acquisition of the seven areas of learning: o Linguistic – reading, writing, speaking and listening skills o Mathematical o Scientific o Technological o Human and social o Physical o Aesthetic, Creative Our belief in Tawheed (monotheism) makes us aware of our personal accountability to our creator. Our strong sense of purpose leads to a team of committed teachers who combine a personalised approach to a stimulating and challenging curriculum. We believe that instilling a lifelong yearning for knowledge amongst our girls alongside a determination to persevere in actions enables them to fulfil their potential and achieve permanent success Insha-Allah.
