Pocket Giving – Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) Policy

1. Policy Statement

Pocket Giving maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). We are committed to protecting children from any form of sexual exploitation, abuse, or endangerment through our app and services. This policy ensures compliance with the Google Play Developer Programme Policies and the relevant laws of the United Kingdom.

2. Definition of CSAE

For the purposes of this policy, Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) refers to any content, conduct, or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Grooming: Establishing a relationship with a child, often online, to lower their inhibitions with the intention of sexually exploiting them.
  • Sextortion: Coercing or blackmailing a child into sharing sexually explicit material or engaging in sexual acts, typically through digital platforms.
  • Child Trafficking for Sexual Purposes: Recruiting, transporting, transferring, harbouring, or receiving a child for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
  • Sexual Exploitation or Abuse: Involving a child in sexual activity, including the creation, distribution, or possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Pocket Giving strictly prohibits:

  • Any form of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content that depicts, promotes, or glorifies CSAE.
  • User behaviour intended to groom, solicit, or exploit children in any way.
  • Communications that encourage or pressure children to share sexually explicit content.
  • App functionality that could be misused to harm, exploit, or endanger children.

4. Safeguarding Measures

To prevent CSAE risks, we have implemented the following measures:

  • User Verification: Robust verification procedures to prevent unauthorised or inappropriate access to the app.
  • Content Moderation: Manual review processes to identify and promptly remove harmful content or behaviour.
  • Reporting Mechanism: Users can easily report inappropriate content or behaviour via the in-app reporting feature or by contacting hello@pocketgiving.com. All reports are treated as a priority and investigated swiftly.
  • Collaboration with Authorities: Any CSAE-related incidents are immediately reported to the appropriate authorities, such as the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).

5. Legal Compliance

This policy complies with:

  • UK Legislation, including the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
  • International Standards, such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
  • Google Play Developer Programme Policies, particularly those concerning Child Endangerment and CSAE.

6. Enforcement and Action

Breaches of this policy will result in:

  • Immediate suspension or termination of accounts involved in CSAE activities.
  • Permanent removal of any offending content from the platform.
  • Reporting to law enforcement agencies for investigation and legal action where necessary.
